Good morning! We are experiencing a cold wave.

Here I am, ready to get out of bed. I don´t wat to much, because the temperature is very low. Outside it is even lower, of course, and I will have to think about covering some of my plants. I worry more about a beautiful baby palm tree I have in the middle of the garden. Some years ago, a bird "plated it" by throwing its poo within my garden. The seed inside grew and I got a small palm tree. It is beatiful, better than all I´ve seen around. I´ll have to check if I have some sort of plastic to cover it until the weather warms up a bit. Do you have to protect plants during the winter?

@TiarasOceanView The inside is much better, thanks to the heater. But I don´t want to think about the price of the gas.

Not really as they are flowers and trees that withstand the cold and hot extremes quite well. Stay as warm as you can Margi.

My garden is like that too. But this year it will freeze, even if it is for a couple of hours. And that will kill some plants´ leaves.

And here we are roasting in the sun at 205 degrees Fahrenheit! Some plants apparently don't like frost a d chilly mornings. Not sure of how to protect them though!

We don't have extreme winters in Southern California.

We use a sort of palapa in our lemon and orange trees when they are too small.

Cold in Chili. I can't imagine. My plants all die out or have a nap when its winter here. Ice and snow just aren't kind to green things.
