Marsha's Spot: The Yo-Yo's

Sigh....the never ending yo-yo's. They will all be worth it in the end once I get the projects done and get paid for them. Just really hoping the gal doesn't change her mind between now and then. It's so hard to work with the invisible thread to put them together. It doesn't tie well, it comes out of the needle too easy, and it's hard to even see to get into the needle. This is how far I am on just one of the valances so far and I have the table runner yet to go. I'm going back to just making the yo-yo's for now. I still have a lot of those to get made from the fabric that is in my box. I want the same varieties of fabrics in all 3 pieces. Do you think I can finish these projects before the Thanksgiving deadline??

@celticeagle Yeah, and I have a problem with consistently working on just one project until it's done.

Not for me LOL It took me 6 months just to make one lady a smallish table runner! In the long run because it took me so long to make I just sent it to her free when she ordered one of my rugs.

Pushing is exactly what I have to do to get it done....and taking the box with me everywhere I go to work on them on any down time at all.

O hate to make those yo-yos, as you say, the invisible thread comes out of the needle all the time. Good luck to finish your project in time.

Yes, and it's so hard to even see to put into the eye of the needle.

@marsha32 I fully agree, it's hard even to put the thread inside the needle.

Long term projects are hard. Is this for our Iowa friend? Or someone else.

I don't remember where the lady is from. She messaged me in Etsy for the special order after seeing the little Christmas table topper that I have for sale there.

I think you will get it done in plenty of time. Interesting project! Try youtube for tutorials on using that invisible thread. Youtube has tips for every task!

If I used it double instead of single it wouldn't come out of the needle...but if you buy it new it's $7.99 a spool, so doubling isn't an option for my pocketbook. Not that I've bought any new as I've been fortunate to get it in with boxes of other thread and such.

If it was the only thing I'm working on, not a problem, but I have about 50 other projects in the works too.

If the money is right I am sure you will, I tried these 25 years ago and they got on my nerves so bad I stopped and did a plain squares patchwork quilt top, I really need to quilt it.

I really need to finish a lot of quilts LOL I have one of the yo-yo maker things. I don't think I would like making them without it.
