I'm the type of person that will let my hair get long then cut it all off.. but my hair grows very fast and I'm thankful for that..well I have been looking at bob haircuts and I found this very cut one I wanted?..so I showed them the picture and they are sure we can do that.. well they must of been lieing because they messed it up so bad and nothing looks right about it. .that is another reason I'm so happy that my hair grows fast.

Aww, when ever I go for hair cut, I will be in tension till it's completely done. I mean I can't believe the hair dresser s , they say they know and can make it ,but final result will be something else..

Sorry that happened to you. Yeah there are some very unskilled stylists out there.

@hillhjill Best advice I can give you (having worked in that profession) is to ask the salon for their best, most popular stylist to work on you..because guaranteed, any stylist with a large following and is very busy is good at what she does. I don't know how some of them pass their state board exam ..yes true, some of them should not be practicing.

Yes there is and I don't understand how they can work in that profession if they don't know what they are doing.

This is why I've only trusted 2 people with my hair, and don't do anything "crazy" to it.

I hate when that happens. I am just thankful that my sister-in-law does a terrific job cutting hair.

That is terrible, I have had the same problem before as well. I would much rather mess up my own hair than deal with a hair stylists that could be a quack. At least you are blessed with fast growing hair! Mine grows kind of fast but i live the life of wearing beanies all the time so I can cover up my hair when it is cut terribly.

Same here if I cut in myself then it would he my own fault but a professional should know what they are doing.

Sorry that your unhappy with your haircut...that's the worst for most woman to experience since our hair is part of who we are. As a hairstylist for 23 years now, this is something that always comes up in conversation. I tell everyone that finding a hairstylist takes time and some work. Not all hairstylists are good at what they do....Just because someone has a driver's license certainly doesn't mean they are a good driver, right? Same with hairstylist. Some of us love our craft and work to improve our skills all the time and some stop learning when beauty school is over. Don't be afraid to ask strangers who did their hair...most people are happy to tell you who they trust to cut their hair and hairstylists often reward clients for referring new people.

Very well said.. and yes I feel the same that once they get the job they stop caring and cut your hair however they feel like.
