I skipped breakfast because for one I am not a fan of eating early and another I just cant seem to find anything to eat that is vegetarian and diabetic friendly.
I am not supposed to have many corn products because of the diabetes but as active as my days have been I splurged today.
I probably eat mine differently than most do. Here is how I switch up to make them more friendly to me :
1 - No real butter - I use earths balance
2. No real milk - I use coffeemate creamer
3. No real sugar - I use splenda or Agave nectar
My dad only liked butter, salt and pepper in his and I am not sure if my sister eats them at all.
How do you like your grits?

You said my bagels are gross - grits are super gross. I tried them once in a restaurant in Atlanta, never again. I love corn any most any shape or form but not that way.

I do not like them often, hubby does not like them at all. I use the real butter, real milk for everything. I might use sugar, honey, maple syrup or molasses to sweeten things

Try them once, sweet, not savory. Then make a decision.

We don't eat grits and never have. However! Have you tried cashew milk or almond milk? Better for you than creamer.
Aren't there some green foods you would like as much as you like corn/grits? These would be kind to you health wise.

Its corn dried, ground really fine and then made into a hot cereal like cream of wheat.

I love grits when they're prepared right. I put just salt and pepper on mine. My husband is from Arkansas and had never heard of grits.
