...."Bamboo. For years pandas have eaten it and builders have climbed up it, but in a workshop nestled in a traditional Beijing hutong it’s being transformed into beautiful, bamboo bicycles." ........ I can't imagine how the bamboo work for for a bike. It will be funny to ride on this bamboo bike. What's the feeling! Today I went to my store and get cleaned up my bike and filling with air to get evening ride with my friend soon. Is better to go for ride better than sitting at the PC whole evening lo

I guess the bamboo bike is very light to carry. Maybe it's also cheaper than a metal one because the material is cheap.

Bamboo is cheap but I think to process the bamboo frame need time and skill. May be the iron frame is cheaper than bamboo 'cos they can produce more.

They must be light to lift, so good for fast riding.

Yes. But I think the labor cost is more expensive. We need to special on 1 bike first.

The frame appears to be the only part made of bamboo. But I think the pliancy of the bamboo makes it a suitable material. Here is a photo of a wooden bike build by a mountain tribe in the Philippines. Looks like fun going downhill. But I wonder how they bring it back uphill.
