Will He Live?

Did you hear or read about the story of how the 22 year old honors college student, named Otto F. Warmbier from America, traveled to North Korea with some sort of tour group, and he took a Propaganda poster as a souvenir , and was arrested? He went before a court and was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor. Yesterday, I read that he was being released. At first, I thought how interesting and it made me happy because that is how the majority of the news outlets were reporting it. Then on the Arab news outlet , Aljazeera English, it was the first to report the truth. It said that he was being released and being flown to his family in America and that he was in a Coma. It said that he had been in a Coma since March. That he had been infected with Botulism and that when the North Koreans gave him some sort of pill, he fell into a Coma. But, the North Korean authorities are not to be trusted. I don't buy that story. I think they beat him and he has some sort of head injury that led to his Coma. I wonder if he will live. I wonder if he will ever come out of the Coma. I pray he lives and comes out of it. I pray for his parents. Can you imagine if it was your family member? Some people are bashing the guy for ever traveling to North Korea in the first place, and I do wonder why he would , but he is still a human being who needs to be prayed for.

A year plus in a coma doesn't sound promising. I am not bashing him for going to NK, but why risk your life, he's not the first one who was taken prisoner there. I don't believe in putting myself into potentially harmful situations.

@LeaPea2417 That is not a safe place - the 'leader' is nuts.

My prayers for him. Why on the first place indeed did he took that tour? Sometimes, we should be discerning on what things we are to take-if it will have risks or not. I hope he will still live.

@LeaPea2417 Well, had he not been too assuming, that wouldn't have happened to him.

I read, the tour was organized by the Chinese, it was called a Young Pioneers Tour. I am not sure how the guy got involved with that.

If he survived that long in North Korea, it would seem he should recover once here. If we can't keep him alive with all we have, what would that say about us?

I did think that, if he survived that long there, maybe he didn't come out of the coma because their medical technology is not as good as ours. So, hopefully, he can heal here.

I would never go to North Korea, for absolutely no reason. Their Dictator is a madman and they have no respect for the human life.

That is what the article says. But the article is kind of vague. They are only reporting what they have been told. I really think the guy was beaten up badly and that is why he is in a coma.
