Are you addicted to painkillers?

June 17, 2017 3:13pm CST
There are people who can't live without painkillers (and this is no exaggeration because I have two friends who are virtually dependent on them ). To any symptom of pain, they take one. What do you think about it? Are you one of them?

No I'm not. The only time I even take advil is when I have a migraine or a tooth ache. I hate taking medicine of any kind. I even gave birth without medicine if that tells you something! Lol.

No, and I'm so thankful for that. My doctor prescribed some pretty intense pain meds for me for when my sciatica acts up. During those bouts, I can't get comfortable sitting or laying down, so I need something to kill the pain. I take them only when the pain is acting up and then I pretty much forget I even have them!

Half a paracetamol is all I ever take and sit it out whatever it is. I drink plenty of fluids to go with it mostly warm liquids like red tea or peppermint. I can appreciate some people have to take much more due to their illness.

There is an epidemic on this..I mean the serious pain killers. They are scaling back on prescriptions for the opiods. Nope I am not a big pain med fan, just aspirin when I need it.

Definitely not. I never take anything stronger than some ibuprofen and then only when I really have a headache. Mostly I don't take any pills at all.

They are very habit forming and after awhile people cannot live without them.I try not to pop a pill for every ache and pain.

I do not even take so much as an aspirin unless I really need it.

So far, I am not addicted to pain killers, but can understand that some people are in deep pain and need them.

I blame a lot of it on doctors @TheInvisibleMan . I have severe spinal injuries and the first thing the doctor wanted to do was put me on really strong pain killers. I told him to kiss my A**. My constant pain level is an 8 and I'll take a Baby Aspirin. When the pain level hits 10 or higher, I'll take a Motrin and that's it. I believe in the phrase, "Suck it up!"

I've only taken them when I had an infected tooth and needed a root canal. The pain was so bad I was beside myself Same when I had my wisdom tooth cut out. The office actually gave me a placebo pill try to see if I could not use a painkiller as part of a study. Very cruel
