Thunder is rolling in

At first I thought they were just blowing stuff up at the joint military base, but then I went to the window to listen and discovered that it was thunder. I wasn't expecting that this evening but the plants certainly could use some water. I brought my old man cat into the kitchen with me for now. The music is playing in here so he hasn't noticed the thunder yet. When he does he will start shaking, drooling, and looking for somewhere to hide. At that point I will put him under the comforter on my bed. That is where he likes to be during thunderstorms. (Amazingly, during Hurricane Sandy, he slept like a log on TOP of everything as the wind howled and the rain lashed at the windows. Go figure.) The sky doesn't even look too dark out there. It keeps getting louder and louder though so I know that it is coming.

setting here now. The storm missed us to the north so it is still warm in the house. (83) I have the attic fan on and the AC on in the bedroom.

They keep telling us that thunder storms are coming, and then they never do. Not that I'm complaining! It's been dark and gloomy all day today but no rain yet.

The storm passed us to the north. We heard the thunder but it never rained here.

I love thunderstorms but after Sandy I'm always leery about losing power.
