Onew thing I find ridiculously rude. Is when a customer comes in on their phone and then standing talking to you turn start talking to sone one in another language.

Maybe the person they are speaking to does not understand unless it is in their native language? Otherwise, yes, it would seem rude.

Or, if the person they are speaking to has been the one they have always talked to in that particular language. For example, my mom knows English well, but I would not suddenly start talking to her in English just because of this fact...

Both spoke perfect English to me then the one talking to me and the other turned over both us in another language.

There must be a reason other than intentional rudeness. Then again it may be intentional because the person didn't want to reveal a business secret while in negotiation with the other side. Nothing personal.

I do think it is rude. How much more talking with them personally.

I'm sure it makes you feel slighted. I think it's rude to be on the phone at all while conducting business, but I'm old fashioned. The person they are talking to could possibly only be able to communicate in that second language. Or the person on the phone is intentionally trying to make you feel uncomfortable by "code switching", which is the linguistics term for alternating spoken languages depending on one's social situation.
