Signs About Town

I went to a carwash in a neighboring town the other day and I was a little startled at this sign that was posted there. It took me a moment to realize they must be talking to hunters. My husband said he has seen similar signs before; it was a first for me. I am having technical difficulties with the photo. The sign said "No Guts or Blood"

I took the picture while inside the car so it's not the best. And it didn't submit for me at first. All the British shows we watch have hunters.

LOL, this one made me laugh! I would have had to pose by that sign. I have never seen that before.

It made me wonder for a moment, then I had to laugh too. I was picturing Saturday night brawls until I realized it's about hunting.

Oh my goodness, this is not a kind of sign we risk to see where we live.

What funny sign. You should send it to Ellen DeGeneres. She displays them on her show.

never saw one of those but i can see where it would gross the washers out. i once worked cleaning motel rooms and dove shooting season was a nightmare. seeing those little bodies on ice etc. and cleaning the messes in the rooms. wish they had had a sign to save the housekeepers from that.

@paigea and it made me sad to see all those little bodies on ice. wondered how they could eat them pretty little things. just seemed wrong

Yuck, even worse to have hunting messes in rooms. My grandpa shot a lot of ducks and geese. Seeing all those bodies was not pleasant, but no mess came into the house!

@bunnybon7 all the animals we eat are cute. The little lambs in spring etc. poor animals.

@velvet53 I asked my husband and he said, there is no reason to arrive at the carwash with a vehicle full of blood and gore.

@paigea - Was there another sign close by that said "No barbecuing in this car wash" ? (Typical sign back when I lived in Redneck country ) - -Gus-

So what are the hunters doing, washing their kill off in the car wash? That would be something a redneck would do! haha

@paigea In all the years I've hunted, I've always field-dressed my kills as well. A good hunter with an ounce of common sense would never have a need to clean up a bloody mess. Now fishing on the other hand, that can get messy! haha

@moffittjc ahhh - I didn't think of fishing, maybe that was what the sign was about!

That is what the sign made me think they are doing. But my husband said he field dresses his deer and does not make a mess on any vehicle. Yes, Alberta is known for it's rednecks.

I assume some hunters get the blood and guts of the animal on their truck. Then they bring that mess to the car wash.

@paigea My husband, when he hunted of course, field dressed them and they were clean as a whistle and I think he used a tarp in the vehicle.

@AbbyGreenhill That is what my husband said. There is no reason to be taking a gory vehicle to the car wash.

I guess when my husband hunts, he dresses the animal far from his truck so the truck isn't all gory. But maybe the quad it. I will have to ask if he has ever washed a gory machine at a car wash.

I never thought about it before, but I can see how that would be a problem for the car washes during hunting season. We don't have a lot of hunting around here, but I need to ask my brother. Actually, I'll ask my nephew. He owns a gas station/car wash.

@BettyB That is what my husband said. So I don't know what these hunters are doing messing up the car wash. Well there was no mess, but there must have been a reason they put up the sign!

There are many hunters around here. I am sure it is directed at them. But my husband also hunts and he says there is no reason to make a mess on your vehicle and bring that mess to the car wash.
