Aswin and Jadeja should not have played the finals.

India lost in the finals against Pakistan in Champions Trophy by 180 runs. Both Ashwin and Jadeja should not have played the finals. Both of them gave more than 130 runs in their 17 overs and lost the match for India. Jadeja also did not run and got Pandya run out for 76 runs who was fighting for India till then. Both the players should be sacked from the Indian team.

One cannot term players as villains after bad performance in just one match. May be the wicket would have required an extra seamer.
Sometimes even best bowlers have an off day. It happens with other teams as well.
True, India bowled badly but batsmen also could not put up much of a fight.
And afterall, its a game of cricket.
Sometimes, some teams will play very great. Sometimes, they falter. Sometimes they falter badly. Its all part of the game.
But lessons learnt- may be Indian team could have planned how to cope with a top order collapse better.
But now the game is over and no use crying over spilled milk.

@sathviksouvik I cant say whether Jadeja or Ashwin should have played or whether India should played much better cricket, but that run out incident was really frustrating.
Jadeja should have showed some character and had sacrificed his own wicket.
Agreed Pak played great cricket and we had off day, but we really need to give our best when we play finals now.

@sathviksouvik what I wanted to say was that may be Ashwin's selection on a pitch not so suitable for spin was wrong, and may be Jadeja was faulty but we cannot blame them totally for one match.
However, if their one day form dip continues, we can look forward to other options thrown up in IPL and otherwise like K.Pandya, Amit Mishra etc.

Thanks Pitstop, whatever suggestions are coming now are for India's betterment in future. In 2019 the World cup is going to be played in England itself.
Few things. Ashwin was hopeless in the entire tournament, not the finals. It is being proved in India, the wickets are made spinning to help him to get wickets. In England a spinner earns wicket by talent which Shadab Khan did. Ashwin showed that he was a bogus spinner. He was belted to different parts of the field by Sri Lanka. As a one day cricketer also he is a big burden. He is the worst fielder in the team. His shaky batting is also a burden.
