Mama Bunny protecting her nest

I was driving home from work Friday morning and there on the corner of a fairly busy street was a bunny standing in the middle of a yard.. and a couple of crows in the grass.. Now I see more bunnies at night but even still they usually run when the cars go by. This bunny was still standing there in daylight with cars going by.. so since I carry my camera with me everywhere I pulled my car over and got the camera out of my bag and started taking pictures.. It was at that time that I realized WHY she was there.. those crows.. were too close to her next.. Which you can see at the top of the picture here. And she was CHASING them all over the yard!! I wish I had realized it first as I would have videotaped it.. It was like watching a National Geographic show live! But I got a couple good shots of Mama Bunny... who by the way thought I was suspicious too.

@infatuatedbby it was cool to finally get a good picture of a bunny though.. I didn't have anything good before .. they are always so quick to hide.

Not really. I did work in a pet store long time ago and got to pet one for a while. But I never really played with them and never owned one... I had hamsters instead.

She is a cute good size bunny. We do not have wild bunnies in our area.

@LadyDuck yes I always feel more horrible to see a bunny that is hit by a car.. Squirrels are quite common. And they are not very smart when it comes to crossing the street.

@ridingbet yes, plus they hide them in the lawn and often they can get run over by the lawn mowers. :(

@Yadah04 yes, it was. I don't often get to see them as bunnies hide pretty well - I was quite surprised to see this one out in the open.

@minx267 there are no wild bunnies in our country. Only bunnies kept as pets. So it should be very interesting to see them outside cages and running with crows on the background.

That is an adorable rabbit haha. I am lucky enough to live near a river (city dweller here) and I have seen a few up close but I suck at taking photos so I never bothered trying to snap one

They are cute... I got a cool camera with an 83x zoom that makes it a little easier to get some shots.

@jobelbojel no, she was protecting her nest of babies.. and she was already chasing away 2 crows.. so she was trying to figure out if she was going to have to fight me too.
