Woke Up To Thunder, Lightning, and Rain! Lots of Rain!

About 5 a.m. this morning I woke up to a low rumble in the distance. As I lay in bed listening, the rumbling grew closer and closer. Then came the first visible flash of lightning, followed by the sound of rain on the roof.
The storm has been moving over us for over an hour now, with some of the thunder booming loud and strong overhead. The rain is still coming down in torrents. It looks like my morning plans are going to change. I won't be loading anything into the truck in this weather.

It is fine and will be fine for the next week or so here DW.
Hope you are staying dry in the rainy weather.
Sounds quite a big storm there.

@Tampa_girl7 Hunker down and let it pass. No need to take any chances. Wind can be a fickle thing. You never know when a sudden gust might throw something in your path.

@DWDavis it wasn't as bad for us as they predicted. Today it is still crazy weather. The sun comes and goes and the winds are howling. We are supposed to get a down pour.

It's hot and sunny here today. We have had a lot of rain lately which I love. Hopefully more will come. =)

I wouldn't mind a nice drizzle for a while but I wouldn't want anymore downpours, those only cause trouble. Yesterday we had flash flooding alerts, normal here if it does rain because it usually comes down hard and furious. This morning it's kinda muggy with 80 degrees and 62% humidity but it's only 7:30am so maybe it'll dry out before noon.
Was the storm you got freaky or normal for your territory?
