Half asleep, making fruit salad. I decided to make a lemon and apple juice spiced dressing for the salad. I grabbed a can from the cupboard. The dressing should be thickened a little before I mixed it with the various fruits. Thank heavens I opened my eyes wider. I slammed on my brakes when I saw that I was about to spoon out baking powder instead of corn starch. Oh my that would have tasted terrible as well as not doing the job of thickening at all well.

Need to wake up next time before doing such things. Silly girl. Have you ever tried yogurt for your dressing? I don't really care for yogurt but find it a good way to get some down me where it probably wouldn't happen other wise.

@sallypup ......The fruit salad is about the only place I can stand plain yogurt.

@celticeagle I used to use yogurt but have stayed away from it for about a year now. The fruit yogurts are just excuses for snarking up sugar.

haha I did that once when I was serving rice pudding to the boys. Sweet rice pudding with cinnamon..instead I had grabbed the curry powder (blind) hahha They were always careful after that when I gave them something.

@TiarasOceanView You could blame the boys cause they did not help you keep hold of your glasses.

@sallypup I remember once on a buffet dad thought he was getting some lemon mousse and got a big ole mouthful of butter, we'd never seen whipped butter before

@Jessicalynnt I believe one of my brother's wives did that: she put in a cup of salt instead of a cup of sugar when she was making cookies.

That sounds like something I would do. I'm afraid your salad would have been a total loss.
