Have any of you wondered why people have a hard time saying thank you, your welcome, and sorry?

I often wondered why it is so hard for people to be nice or polite. In my opinion, I believe people learn from their parents and if parents never learned how to say any of those then they do not pass on to their kids. I also believe friends you hang out with influence people too. I also believe a culture can affect people too.

Maybe they were not trained by their parents to say those things. Or just influence by the society to not be respectful.

@Ironclad15 Hayward, there are many parents out there that think they are better than others and don't care to teach their children the right way of life.

Yes, You are absolutely correct. First, the parents should learn these mannerisms and the children automatically learn them observing their parents.

Obviously one's environment including significant others and friends can play some/or a major role in one's politeness or behavior. I also think it is inside that person to have the ability to choose to be polite or not. Although your point is very well taken, and has been shown to be true, people due have free will and the ability to understand right from wrong. In the grand scheme of things it's up to them to make that choice. People have free will

DB, Yes, they have free will, but, children also take from them what they learn at home and you are right the friends they choose do have an affect on them.
