Lying Or Acting To Impress Someone

I just spent some quality time with my son by reading a book with him.
The book was about a girl at a new school who eagered to impress her classmates by lying about her father's job... and she got caught.
Since reading the book I start to wonder about myself. I know for sure that I had acted to impress someone, but I can't recall if I had ever lied to impress anyone.
What about you? Have you ever lied, or acted, to impress some one?

No, I'm a very transparent person and I lay down my cards immediately. Not a people pleaser.

People who lie to impress others will one day be found out any way, and instead of be liked, they will be disliked for not being honest. Thanks for sharing.

@Elisa1234 I don't really lie at all... if I don't want to answer something then I will refuse to give an answer... If I have to lie, it might be, say I want to stop talking on the phone with someone (as it's too long) then I might say I'm busy... or I lie just for a good laugh, like people say ''pulling your leg''. Have you heard of the term?

I'm honest... and lazy: lying takes a lot of effort. 
I think I've impressed people with my frankness. 
I'd rather be quiet than saying something that might hurt feelings or my reputation, well, I try my best.

@atoz1to10 Those people who are good at lying end up lying to themselves, that doesn't sound healthy.
Well, about my frankness, people are usually shocked.

Yeah you are right, when you lie you have to think and think of what to say.. Take too much time and effort for that. But there are people who can lie without any trouble... And how do people take your frankness??

I don't know if I have ever done that, but I know the person I am today does not do that. If someone does not like me the way I am, they don't have to bother with me.
