I forgot my niece's shoes

While on my way their I texted my brother and then few minutes he called back. Told him I was going to buy the kids some fast food treats but he declined because they already had their lunch.
By the time I got there, we unpack the eco-bag, the shoes weren't there. After that we called our aunt who lives abroad and greeted her advance happy bday.
I didn't stay long because the possible traffic since it's Saturday. When I got home, Mom was pissed that I didn't get to buy them fast food and remind me never to call him ahead

i guess her point was, even if they've already eaten, they can eat whatever you bought later.
so when will you take the shoes? or will your brother pick it up?
