We are having the hottest weekend of the year now and reached 99 today. I know that's not hot by comparison with some areas of the country and the world, but we are not used to it. Do you ever get used to it? We are going to a local theater tonight to see a musical called "Disaster," which is a parody of 1970s disaster movies like "Earthquake" and "the "Swarm." It takes place in 1979 in a floating casino disco. There should be a lot of good music. It is a dinner theater, but this time we will eat at home and enjoy dessert, wine and coffee at the show. We are definitely hoping the air conditioning in the old building works well. It could be a "disaster," otherwise.

99 must be hard to deal with so early in the year @JamesHxstatic We will have those days soon enough. Hope your trip to the theater was worth it!

I live in Arizona...and i HATE the heat! I think we actually got over 120 degrees this week. I was driving home today (with the A/C in my car broken) at about 4:30 and it was 110 degrees. I heard on the news that the low at night is 85 degrees. I really wish I could move somewhere cooler but I think I would miss my family too much!!

@SonjaRae , Hello from Dallas. I think it is just as bad in North Texas but it looks as though Oklahoma is harder hit by those intense tornadoes. I know that it is easier to breath when we go to a Walmart where the air conditioning drys and purifies the air.

I heard that it was really hot down that way. That is way to much heat. The show was great, the a/c worked pretty well too. It was still 88 downtown when we came out, closer to 80 where we live, but our a/c will be on all night.

I hope you had air conditioning, you cannot resist inside with 97 F. We were over 100 F yesterday during the day, thanks God we had rain and thunderstorms during the night, it's pleasant today.

We will be in the 90s again today, 88 at 11 AM, but will cool down to 77 tomorrow. The a/c worked well at the show and it was very funny.

Dinner theater is such fun. How strange that you are in Western Oregon and have hotter temps than me in Eastern Washington. It used to be that the west was cooler by about 10 degrees than us over here on the other side of the mountain. It hit the 90s here today. Going hotter tomorrow. Hubby and I did get out and do a few basics today like watering. He weeded more than me. I'm headed out to feed hens. (Still not 100% over ugly headache effects.)

It is strange that eastern Oregon too had less heat than we are getting this weekend. Portland hit 100 and it is still about 82 here.

I thought Oregon was a cooler place but here lately I see the reports on the news and the weather up there has to be record breaking for you. Stay cool at all costs.

We are trying to do so, @lookatdesktop. This summer is nowhere near as bad as last year, when we had little rain in the spring. I know Dallas is no picnic either. I spent a lot of summers (1950s) as a kid in a little town near Abilene, a very hot drought time.

@JamesHxstatic , Well, I don't know what the summer of 2017 will bring us. They say we might very well see record breaking heat waves all over the states. Including where you live and those along the East coast.

It hasn't gotten that hot here yet. Today is supposed to get up into the low 90s. Then the rest of the week is supposed to cool down. I believe the hottest it's been here this year has been 94ยบ. Hopefully there will be air conditioning in the theater.

@JamesHxstatic That's good. I think most theater would have AC otherwise people would go were there is AC on a hot day/night.

That's way hot for you in in Oregon. It's been in the 90s for days here in SoCal. Every summer we have heat waves of days of 100 plus on end. I once lived in Vegas during summer and that's an inferno.

We manage to have several days running in the 100s each summer too, but it looks as if the July 4th weekend will be nice in the 80s for once.

That is very hot at that time of night. We can get quite a few days of such temperatures but it usually cools down a bit at night.

Yes, if the theater has no air conditioning I would request a refund, and it could turn into a disaster for the theater owner
