Have You Filled Someone's Bucket Today?

It was very very cold this morning. After taking my son to school, I went to the medical clinic for my appointment. Since I still had time to kill, I went to do some shopping. As I made my way to the shop I saw a guy sitting outside the shopping centre begging for money. Usually I would ask myself if I should or should not give money to a person who looked just fine to me. But then it's not that easy to live these days. Even though I myself have a job I am still struggling. And not only that, the weather was so cold too, and how long had that guy sitting there? Don't know what got into me but while doing shopping, I bought him something to eat just in case he needed to sit there for a whole day. I even bought him a hot chocolate to keep him warm. I was so happy that I did some thing good and meaningful this morning... I rushed out to give them to him, picturing how happy he would be when he saw what I got for him. But he was nowhere to be seen. So disappointed. Here I was trying to make his day and he'd gone. Only if he would stay back a little bit longer. Even though I missed filling his bucket, I did give some change to a man collecting money for charity, and the doctor the hot chocolate which was meant for someone else (Sorry Doctor).

Yes, especially when you are down...by doing good to others, we build up our self esteem as well. As for my doctor, it is a she. Yes, I was going to tell her but then I didn't... (I was going to drink it myself but I could make my doctor happy as well.)

I donĀ“t give money to beggars. I have seen and read that they are quite wealthy. I do take care of the people that work for me though.

Yes, I was told some beggars are richer than us, I usually give to charities but for today, maybe it's to do with the weather I tried to cheer him up... It's a shame that he missed it.

@Linda1234 Really? And we thought we only see them in poor countries. It's illegal for people to beg for money in Australia...maybe this is why the man left so early.

I think you filled needs you were supposed to today. It is not often someone does a good deed for their doctor, and charities always need help. You reminded me of something along this same line I meant to post, so you filled three buckets today.

@atoz1to10 , you'll surely do it again.Actually, 6 years ago, I fed a beggar, He was blind and no ne gave him food. he stayed outside the fast food center. I told the guard not to drive him away for I would buy the beggars some foods. I bought him one lunch box, soft drinks, and burger. he was so happy and saw his tears falling and I, too, cried for being carried away. The feeling was so nice. I always donate to charity.

@cacay1 that was very nice of you... I rarely give people food because I don't want to offend them... I often give money to charities. Just think of the way people live in Australia and how they throw their leftover away, and yet there are people dont have anything to eat.

I think the articles you bought are not meant for them and he may not deserve them. This must be the will of the God.

I was going to give this man some money as well... He should not be called a beggar because people live in Australia receive money from the government if they don't have a job.
