A few years ago I watched a Mexican movie called No se aceptan devoluciones. It is a movie about a father raised his daughter alone until her mother returned. I will not tell more about it since I hope you will enjoy this movie much more without knowing the details. In brief, it is a touching movie. Then lately I watched a French movie and it is the same story but just in French version. The story is the same. I like the Mexican verson much more because in that movie the actor is not attractive at all but it is more like the reality rather than a movie. The father is a tall and strong man for French version. So it is more like a movie.

The question is which film was made first. A film which is successful in Europe is *never* shown in the USA. A new film is made with well-known American actors. This happened with the French film 'Three Men and a Baby', for example. It was a huge success in several European countries. American audiences couldn't be shocked by unknown French actors (who are famous in France, but how many Americans know something about France?), though. So an American version of the film was made. @HAPPSINGH It's not necessary to make a new film if you need another language. A film can be dubbed.

The Mexican version made first. And perhaps this is another reason I like it more. In fact sometimes I will watch European movies but I like German movies than French movies. And Good Bye Lenin is a German movie and I really like it.

@HAPPSINGH I'm not talking about 'gathering ideas' but about making the exact same film, only with different actors.

@Shavkat The problem is today I hardly see a good horror movie.

Usually the movie that is made first is the best. I suppose that the French version is a remake and they wanted to give a more attractive look to the actors.

Yes, the French movie is a remake version and it is almost the same. So it doesn't give me a surprise any more.

A film that springs to mind is girl with the dragon tattoo. The original swedish film was very good but got remade in america because people apparently don't like subtitles I find the US tv/film industry remake a lot of stuff whereas other countries use subtitles more.

I watched the movie Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. I don't know the original version is from Sweden. Hollywood movie really has a big effect because we watch it more often than other foreign movies.
