Used your car as a step ladder? Well, being the kind of girl that will use anything as a means to an end, I did. My driveway is 750 feet long (228.6 meters). Along the one side of the drive now belongs to a guy that I sold an acre of land to and the tree branches were getting to the point that they were drooping half-way over my driveway and causing a problem for anybody trying to go up my drive. I called him to discuss it and he said he didn't have the time to do it, so I asked him if it was okay if I did it. Well, of course he was gonna say yes. Soooo, being that the branches would not have supported a regular ladder (since I only have a 20 ft. (6.096 meter) that is just a straight ladder, I had to figure out how I was gonna do it. I drove the car up under the first tree and with the cutters climbed onto the roof of my car and started chopping away. It took over 1 1/2 to do all 7 trees. By the time I got done, my back was screaming. Between cutting, getting off the car to haul the branches into the woods, going to the next tree, crawling back up and cutting some more....well, you get the idea. Ingenuity....works every time.

I couldn't do that. I would be afraid of a branch or a limb falling and knocking me off the car.

I don't think I want to get stuck having to do it again that's for sure @Nawsheen . Wearing a Tommy Copper back brace and laying down for a while did help.

Too bad that neighbor wouldn't do it, but that is typical. Glad you did not hurt yourself, but like me, you have to do it yourself. Same here. No one else is going to do it.

You'd be surprised at some of the stuff I've had to do and figure out @TiarasOceanView . Built a ramp into the haybarn so I could wheel bales of hay into it. Nailed up 4'x8' sheets of MDF on the donkeys lean-to. (that one was tricky).

You did something extremely dangerous, it's easy to fall down the top of a car.

@nanette64 I used to do this kind of things, until the day my husband caught me on the border of the balcony trying to clean the under roof. He got a scare and now he does not let me do anything at all.

Well since I haven't robbed a bank lately or stood on a street corner with a glass jar, I couldn't afford to have someone else do it @LadyDuck . And who knows how long it would have taken for him to get around to it. I wore a pair of tennis shoes with good rubber. I am afraid of heights but "ya gotta do what ya gotta do."

@nanette64 I can! having lived on my own on 5acres halfway between Buffalo and Jewett TX. A person gets inventive (and is required to) in such circumstances.

Sounds like a bit too much hard work for someone in your state of health. I hope you didn't suffer too much afterwards.

Certainly sounds like back-breaking work and I probably would have fallen off the car so not something I would have attempted. However, you are probably happy to get rid of all those branches

Probably not a smart move for someone 66 with back injuries @Marilynda1225 . Coming up the drive this morning though, it looked great,
