I Had Bitten by a Dog Before: Ouch!!! That’s too painful!!!

When I was around 6 years old, I was bitten by a dog. I vividly remember that I was climbing a tree. As I stepped down on the ground, a dog strikes my right cheek bottom. Ouch! I wasn’t rushed to the hospital that time. After washing the wound and let it bleed for some time. A neighbor patched the wound with crushed garlic. It was country’s side way of treating the wound. Luckily, the dog was vaccinated with anti-rabies. The most embarrassing moment of my life in childhood years. But I still love dogs despite being bitten by a dog. “Have you bitten by a dog?” Image Credit: cesarsway.com

Yes, I was bitten but was nothing serious, I was trying to pat a dog and she was scared and bite my finger. What is the link you posted? It brings nowhere.

I am sorry the link wasn't a good one. I tried to fix it now. That's what I am scared of. I can't touch a dog without the owner.

My mom says I was bitten by our puppy when I was 2 years old. You know, as a toddler, I picked up the puppy, hug it and squeezed so the puppy was hurt and the animal instinct to protect itself, it bit me on the chest. It was not a bad bite, becuse it didn't leave marks. I am a dog lover and dogs love me too ;=)

@Shavkat exactly, but right now we have a super hyper active 7 months old doggie and sometimes I get annoyed of it's non stop messing things.

It is nice that there is no mark. Even I don't have it now. I guess we love the dog much and we can't stop hugging them.

That's a very horrible experience. I hope it didn't leave you a big scar. I feel scared if a dog barks at me because I am afraid next step it will try to bite me. People always say not to run to see such a dog because it will make them run after you. I heard the best solution is bow down and pretend to pick up something, like a stone. And the dog will feel scared and then it may walk away. Or try to hold a stick in your hand, it can also make the dog go away.

Some of the old folks advised us not to run if the dogs are barking. The bite wasn't too big. I was too young that time and don't know what to do.

In my fourth finger and it was a little dog that was trying to bite our Dog. He is a nasty piece of work but it did nothing to me as I jumped back right away. Yours must have hurt terribly though. Ouch.

@Shavkat Don´t blame you either. The little horror bit me and he was a malicious little thing as well much worse than our dog who was four times bigger.

@Shavkat I know that I would have been as well. I am still wary of most dogs even if they seem very gentle.

It was a painful one and can sit comfortably because of the wound. Because of such incident, I am too cautious to touch a dog especially if it is not mine.

That's really OUCH! Good thing that dog isn't rabid. I too was bitten by a small dog, who approached me silently when I entered the gate of my friend's house and he was there in a corner.

@Shavkat Me, it has bitten me above the ankle, fortunately, i was in my maong pants that its teeth didn't sink into my leg much. I wiggled my legs so hard that it was thrown so far. My friend came out and saw that, so she took out the dog.

@SIMPLYD My "Putot" has the ability to do it, too. That's the reason why we need to hold or keep her in the cage if there are some visitors in the house.

Sometimes dogs look so adorable and unleash their bite moves unexpectedly. It was so painful and keeps on crying for having such a quick bite from a dog.

That's too painful, kabsat. At least, the dogs are required to have the vaccination. I don't want to experience what I had seen a patient before that totally became like a mad dog in the hospital.

@Shavkat you mean the patient became mad? possibly the rabies virus was already in his brain. and it is true that when one is bitten by a person bitten by a dog, the rabies may be transmitted to this person, because of the saliva.

I was also bitten by a dog when I was a little boy, and the dog also bit me in my left cheek bottom. but it did not cause serious injury and I remember that I was more embarrassed than it hurt me. At the time there was a few years I did not like dogs because of it, but it passed me and today I really like dogs
