Killed , Because Of A Basketball Game Bet

This actually happened in the town where I live, after the final match of the basketball game between Cavs and Golden State.
That night there was a heavy traffic, just when the jeepneys are nearing the town.
The driver shared that it was because in front of a restaurant , investigation is being done. A man was stabbed several times and gunned down. Thus, policemen are there, doing their investigation.
The next day , it was in the news that the businessman was stabbed by his friend whom he bet against. His bet was for the Cavs. Now, since the Cavs did not win, it means he has to give his friend the bet of U$300 they agreed upon. But he didn’t give him the US$300.00.
Thus, out of anger, his friend killed him, while he was walking in the street.
Have you heard of any news like this, wherein a person was killed because of his non-payment of bet?

Because I work as reporter so I confirmed there have been many incidents like this before including local basketball and especially cockfighting.

@SIMPLYD in the city proper, but it was not due to the fight per se, but it was hot in their house, so that added to the attack.
my lady, the fight of Pacman and Horn will be tomorrow. i hope nobody will succumb to heart attack again.
for me, when i watch, i don't get very excited. i separated my heart (emotions)from my eyes.

He was stabbed first as others said then was gunned to finally kill him. But there are witnesses.
We don't know if the friend who killed him was caught already.
