“My Coke Rewards” Closes Up Shop

I know a couple of people who had a lot of luck with sweepstakes at the My Coke Rewards site. Personally I always waited until there were coupons for free 12 packs or 24 packs. If you didn't use your points in a certain amount of time or add a couple of codes to keep the account active then you would end up forfeiting those points. That sucks and when it happened to me I called it quits with the site and the reward program. About six months ago there was an email about a revision to the program which made it even harder to earn stuff. Instead of being able to look through the site to order what you want they added tiers and to get to those tiers you had to do things at the site or post things to social media. Suffice it to say, the program could have been a huge success and those hardcore Coke drinks would end up being rewarded for their loyalty. There is a new 'program' being advertised in the email that was sent out but when you click through to the site it just shows basic offers like entering contests and doing a survey or two. I doubt I will sign up for the new program; I still drink Diet Coke but after getting burned a couple times with points not being credited or them expiring. Image: Coke Media

I don't drink enough (just Coke Zero or Diet Dr.Pepper once in awhile) to make it worth the effort.

It started off strong but when they got too many people using it they never added more people to handle the load or get prizes

Coke adds complications. Glad I don't drink it.

I have a bunch of the codes that haven't been used, the new rewards program seems far too complicated.

Any time there are different prize levels and things you need to do to progress up the tiers you can almost guarantee it isn't going to be worth the time and effort
