Day 295 Proverbs 28:10 Proverbs 28:10 Whoso causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession. Every parent wants for their child to have friends of good influence. They don’t want them hanging around with the wrong crowd, getting in trouble and ending up in prison or dead. Solomon said that those who led good people astray would fall into the traps they set. Jesus told the people that it would be better for a person to have a millstone put about his neck and thrown into the sea than to lead a child astray. Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. (KJV) We all want good things for our children. God does too. If you are a Christian, you are one of God’s children and he doesn’t take kindly to any of Satan’s devices to lead you away from him. God has already sentenced Satan to eternity in hell, but until Jesus’ return to take his children to him, Satan still has free reign over the hearts and lives of the people here. It is up to you to discern between God’s desires for your life and Satan’s schemes. As Christians, you need to seek God every day to determine his will for your life that day. You need to ask God to hedge you in, protecting you from every thought and action Satan devises against you. You need to put on the whole armor of God so you can withstand all the fiery darts Satan throws at you. You need to guard your heart and mind with the helmet of salvation so Satan cannot penetrate your thoughts and give you evil thoughts marked to destroy you. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, Jesus came to give abundant life to everyone who calls on his name. John 10:10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. God’s desire for you is life. Satan’s desire for you is eternal death. Hell and destruction wait for anyone who listens to Satan. But all those who seek God and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord has eternal life. Let’s pray: Father, I love you and I desire to live my life with you for eternity. Help me discern Satan’s evil schemes and cast him away from me.
