Anyways, rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s' poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are: boom, loud, past, scared, sound
Mine is as follows:
To some of us the boom of fireworks high up in the sky,
Is little more than sight and sounds created way up high,
But to those who’ve been touched by certain things,
It’s not happiness that the sounds may bring,
Loud sounds may sound like gunshots near,
And bring forth the memory of past held fear,
It’s not just our pets that may be scared,
When some of the harder things in life were shared,
To those who have survived with scars that may make,
This Fourth of July so hard to take,
I offer a quiet hug and offer some strength of mine,
You can make it, your inner strength will shine.

Hello! Going to give it a shot:
The dinosaur sized tractor's boom lifted
shifting, swaying, dizzying the man inside,
being a manly male, he would not admit to being scared
the loud, jeering sound of starlings too near
ripe cherries long past skipped by
his brain cells loudly hee-hawed
let me out of here!
