What are you doing for the 4th of July?

Do you have plans for a barbecue? Are you going to see fireworks somewhere? Or is tomorrow just another day on the calendar where you live?
We actually don't have any big plans for tomorrow even though we live in the US and it is a big holiday. We usually spend the day on the beach but Governor Christie closed the NJ government, including state parks, and the beach that we go to is a state park. (He and his family are currently enjoying it but that is another story) So we will not be at the beach tomorrow.
The restaurant/bar where we hang out will be closed so we won't be able to go there for lunch. There's no way that we will go over the bridge to the boardwalk because it will be a madhouse full of tourists.
That leaves us staying at home and just relaxing out back on the patio. We can see the fireworks display that the town puts on from our backyard. No need to go to the beach for that.

I know its one of the special day in your country, I have watch movies about 4th of July.

Just the usual barbeque at my daughters house. She lives 5 minutes away so we don't even have to worry about traffic. Sorry that you're not able to enjoy the beach cause of Christie.

@NJChicaa I have some friends who work in NJ offices and are now on furlough (or whatever they are calling it) and worried about whether they will get paid or not. What a dumb move to ruin a huge beach day for so many people

@Marilynda1225 My best friend is a state employee too and she is in the same boat. She is working because she is a supervisor and therefore considered "essential personnel" but was told that there is no guarantee that she will be paid for the time she works.

As far as I know all we are doing tomorrow is going to the parade in town where we live and later going to the fireworks and then home. I hope you enjoy your holiday even if you do stay home.

We are staying home tomorrow. My husband doesn't want to be on the road with all of the traffic and everything.
