Shadow Art ... Tracing shadows on paper in the sunlight.

It's a good project to try at home when kids are looking for something new and inventive. Take a toy horse or some other small statuette and place it in a position where the sun casts it's shadow on a piece of white foam board or poster board. Trace the outline of the shape and then cut it using a sharp edge knife and use it as a stencil to spray paint different colors through it on a poster just for fun.

I use to do that tracing the outline of a child's head. It makes a nice picture.

Yea. My wife has one of her boys on paper, a cut out of his head like a shadow image.

That's creative and a good idea for kid's craft. Now if only we can pull them off their tablets and video games.
