A 4th of July Question for my fellow Americans

Has there ever been any 4th of July where you were out of the Country and celebrated with fellow Americans in that other Country? It happened to me and my Sister in the summer of 1983. We were traveling in France with a group of High School girls and our High School French Teacher. We had traveled throughout the country and it ended up that on the exact July 4th of that year, we were in Nice France. I remember at a restaurant near our hotel, our group joined other groups of Americans in a section of the restaurant and at one point during our meal, we all sang "God Bless America". Then, after the meal, my Sister and I went back to our hotel and asked the guy behind the desk if we could make an international call. He spoke broken English , at first he didn't get what we meant, then he understood and he let us do it and we were successful and got through to our Parents and we had a nice little conversation. That is a 4th of July I will never forget.

Happy Fourth to you. I miss not being in the states during this holiday. We went to the US Embassy Fourth of July picnic on Saturday. They throw one ever year so then I don't feel so homesick.

July 4th, 1985, I was at Camp Hovey, Korea. On nearby Camp Casey, they had a country music star perform for the troops and then fireworks after. I am not sure, but I think the headliner was Tanya Tucker. My friends and I were stuck so far back in the crowd we couldn't make out anyone on stage but we could hear the music.

In 1983 I lived in Monte-Carlo, not very far from Nice (France). The Nice airport was the one from where we always started our trips to the United States.

In the former Canal Zone in Panama their was Fourth Of July celebrations before 1999. What I understand from seeing You Tube videos that the practice still goes on.
