Some people are free, others come with a high price tag

Some people are free, in a sense of the word, free to do what they want any time they want. Like a free bird, flying high until somebody shoots them down. Then there are those who have to spend their money to have a sense of freedom, like paying for a long trip on a 3 day vacation from their job and having to spend half that time waiting for a flight to their final destination. Some people have to run away from murderers and dictators in order to get to be free. When they tell you it's free, but you have to buy one first to get the other for free, I see that nothing is free. They say, fill out this list of questions on this online survey to get a free gift card, you will not be working for it? Yes. You will be working hard to get that so called free gift card but when you realize they have got all your info, and no card you get nothing in return, freedom or free means about as much as a free fall from a jet air plane without a parachute. Those who died for our freedom were the ones who paid the ultimate price. Nothing's cheep in this world I assure. Freedom must be earned. Freedom, that's what we are made of ... YouTube:

The freedom we in America take for granted is not permanent necessarily and we must continue to fight to keep America free. But as to those who are not free, we must try to help and fight to make them free so eventually all nations will enjoy being so.

@lookatdesktop Having lived in various global places, I know the value of this country that others take for granted.

I can somehow relate to that because recently one of my country's province is under siege by terrorists. But personally I'm thankful that our current President is keen enough to have found out about it soon so they can fight against it. As to date, a handful of soldiers has already given their life to attain the goal of keeping the peace and freedom within my country. We are praying as a country that the siege would be ended soon.

So right freedom as they put it across is not real freedom and that is why I never buy two for the price of one or do Surveys either. Many men in my Family were lost in both World Wars also. They did pay the highest price also with their very young lives.

There are men in prison for life who, feel in their own minds they are free, so it is all relative. Freedom for one might be bondage for someone else. It's a concept often only dreamed of or seldom realized. In a real sense, freedom can be obtained if only for a brief moment in time.

@RubyHawk , Yes, very sad indeed. Many young men and women return after service and are almost completely forgotten or ignored and that is not the way it is supposed to be. We need to honor and respect these young men and women for their service and duty to this great country of ours.

@lookatdesktop Sometimes I think the cost is too great. To many young lives lost.

To have freedom will make you feel happy and that is what I like for me to have all the freedom that I need.

I don't think we are that free any more. It is not the kind of freedom we need. We are being mind manipulated by the Fake News that goes on 24/7

@janethwayne , Yes and very sad. It is making things more difficult especially in Washington, getting things done and slowing things down a lot.

As your article pointed out, freedom is subjective. Too often politicians wave the flag and ask young men to go abroad to fight and die for "democracy". Equating a political system to "freedom" is used as a ploy to meddle in the affairs of other countries and change a foreign leadership more amenable and pliant.
