An Arabian Proverb

Do you have a close friend or friends? Do you feel free to tell them how you feel, when you feel angry or sad or happy? Do they listen closely and share your feelings, helping you to sort things out? An Arabian Proverb that I wrote down a long time ago comes to mind. It says: “A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one’s heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away.” If you have a friend like that, you certainly have a treasure. If YOU are a friend like that then YOU are a treasure. Pope John XXlll said: “Whoever has a heart full of LOVE always has something to give.” I hope you are having a wonderful day.
