Back then when I was in high school,I always wrote letters to my dad just before the visiting day in case I needed anything for my personal use.I was in a boarding school and with only one visiting day in a term,a letter was the most convenient to use for communication. But then its amazing how far technology has taken us because the students of today just use a mobile phone to communicate.

Yes, I received love letters from one former boyfriend. He was studying in a far place and we only get to see each other during school vacations, so he sends me love letters. They were so nicely and romantically written.

For sure letters came in handy in portraying love in the most romantic way and it was possible to add heart-like stickers to show love.

I never wrote any letters. By the time I was young enough , it's digital and email period..so I missed it. But yes I have seen that period of writing letters, when my grandparents and parents used to write

I guess with letters, the message was well sent home but anyway with the latest advances in technology,we defnitely have to embrace what comes our way.

Great, looking back, it seems like 20 years is a lot of time in technology world. Just look around now, everyone is communicating with high tech gadgets. A leap that we never knew gotta happen in a few years time.

Hello @waflay! I do remember writing letters and I miss this time so much! I also remember when I studied English, I had two penfriends, one in England and another one in Germany, so we could write in English to better use the language. Technology has really something good to offer but I must add it turned everything a little colder and quick when it comes to relationships and links we build with people. Nice discussion of yours!

It was really enjoyable just sitting down and scribbling a few sentences to make a letter to even impress the other party.

Those are the golden days in our life. Write a letter then post it and wait for the reply. It is time consuming but something sweet there to do all those activities. Now the communication is quick and fast but there is no sincerity and truthfulness most of the communications.

I used to love having pen pals and how excited I would be when a letter would arrive. Those days are sadly gone :(

Okay, at least you have a source of info how we used to communicate, slow and effective... but bad when landed in wrong hands lol.
