WHOM TO BLAME?

My dear Friends, At the outset, i wanna give a small introduction about me before entering into a discussion on a topic for which i seek your opinion. I am from Tamilnadu (southern part of India). A mother of 9 months beautiful baby girl. Currently a home maker. I resigned my job to take care of my baby who is completely depend on me. Few people suggested me to continue job by appointing a babysitter. Will a babysitter care a child as mother does? So, myself and my hubby were not interested in appointing a babysitter as its our responsibility to take care of "OUR CHILD" so, my better half has advised me to take care of baby and assured me that he can manage financial issues. Recently, i saw a shocking video shared by one of my friend and this video has become viral in social sites. The video is about a babysitter who is harrassing one year old child. The child was brutally beaten up by a babysitter who was caught on cctv footage. I had a doubt that whether she is a human or some cruel creature who dont have minimum courtesy towards that soft hearted kid?? There might be a good babysitters. I am not talking about them here. I just wanna discuss about the babysitters who is not fit to take care of a baby. So my question is whom to blame for the above incident?? Irresponsible parents or the babysitter or the government who did not fix proper laws to punish them severly in order to avoid such incidents in future?? Nothing is important than a baby who expects merely love and caring from us isn't it?? What makes certain parents to run behind money when they cannot bring back a smile from their child if it disappears forever. Please throw some light on this :)

if you are a stay-at-home mother, then may i suggest that you take care of your child hands-on.

@ridingbet, a mom is the best in the world to take care of her baby personally.

In my opinon, if you can stay home with the child, this is the better option. One never knows what kind of babysitter, nanny, or other help one might get. So in the end, if you are able to say with your own child, the better.

@MarsGirl I did it..I took my son everywhere with me even sometimes on cleaning jobs..lol I know that some parents have to get the babysitter, but I would blame the babysitter or the parent depending on the circumstance.

I have seen quite a few such videos. It is good that you are able to take care of your baby. However, There are many ladies who are forced to engage maids or baby sitters and believe me , most of them are good .

Let your husband work for the family. If his income is sufficient enough, never work. You may also invite a relative to live with you and take care of the baby.

@MarsGirl At the end of the day, it's your choice. But, I completely agree with you that when compared with the well-being of child, nothing is more important for the parents, at least in the Indian context. My mother too took up job as a teacher, only after my brother & I were old enough to go to secondary school(she initially resigned). By the way, the video you were referring, where did it take place?

In such an incident everyone will want to blame someone but the truth is no one person should be held responsible or left to face the consequence the babysitter should be severely punished yes,but so should the parents although there was not much to be done and they have to work to ensure the child future as they should find time to check in on babysitter and child and the government too the babysitter should have been review every 2 week or so to see if she is fit to continue but there hands are tied as well ,so its better to be knowledgeable on those you leave your children in the care of.

@MarsGirl true but some people are good deceivers so one can never be too sure whom they leave their child with no matter the amount of research done on the babysitter sometimes the bad ones are clever at hiding their abusive natures.

Due to circumstance if parents needs a babysitter, they should do more investigation about that person before appointing them.

Parents is responsible, because i have worked as teacher before, i have faced situations like parents is leaving childrens to school because they dont have time for thier kid..job is more important, school time ends in 4pm and i used to wait till 6 pm for parents to come to pick the children, and this is every day situation of mine

Thanks for sharing your thoughts here sherwin. I agree with you . If the circumstance makes the parents to appoint babysitter its ok but they should enquire about the babysitter before appointing.

It is always better for the mother to take care of her kids. She cannot trust the caretaker. Caretakers won't give much attention the child as a mother gives. Even I have heard of babysitters who hurt children. Our children is our gift from god.Other than the parents no one will take proper care of them.
