Best way to recover a twisted ankle

I twisted my ankle last week and it is still twinging. I can walk on it fine. I have PT tomorrow whats the best way to get it to recover speedily?

Hi Andy its more painful when we get ankle sprain. You can try out the following home remedies to get rid of it. It all depends on the degree of severity you got. If you dont get recover from the below tips i suggest you to consult doctor. 1. Please do not massage that area as it increases the severity. 2. You can try out icebags applying on the affected area. It constricts the blood vessels and the blood pressure gets increased which reduces swelling. Pls dont keep direct ice to skin 3. You can also take turmeric milk : Turmeric have anti inflammatory properties which will eliminate the swelling from sprained ankle. Thanks!

I had the same problem a while ago and the on ly thing I did was to put lots of ice on it . I packed the ice cubes in a thin towel and wrapped it round the area , rested until the ice melted away. If you can.do it twice a day and also pour very hot water over the area you get a lot of relief and the sprain heals very quickly.

I think we need to let the ankle joint structures to heal. You can use an elastic bandage. If you are going to have PT session tomorrow, you can ask them to have some home instructions.

Presumably you used ice when it happened? Rest is best, but if you must ue it, make sure you use a support bandage!

Sorry to hear that. You could go to TCM ( Traditional Chinese Medicine ) or acupuncturist to acupuncture your ankle. helps to unblock the clogged nerves or blood and you will feel better when walking.
