I took the long way home

This is actually an image of my sister's apartment. You could say I took the long way home today.
I had a physical or "well woman" check today, including lab. It took an hour and a half total. After that, since it was fasting, I had to get some calories in, it was nearly my lunch time. I had not had breakfast, I am diabetic.
I also had to get gas in the van. So I ate my snack I had in my purse, got something to drink for the road, fueled my van. From the place I get my car fueled up I can see my sister's house. So I dropped in on her.
My sister said she was just thinking about me. We had a nice visit. Nothing momentous.
On the way home I stopped by a small town for some shredded cheese for a recipe, and from there took the long way home through that town and the next one, rather than the high way.
I made an early meal of herbed bread, steak and yellow squash. It has been a satisfying day, and very relaxed. See all of you tomorrow.

It was nice. I get to listen to all of her stories about all the people around her.

Now I have that song " take the long way home" stuck in my head.
Glad all went well.

@GardenGerty It is nice to be with your brother, my friend. One of my siblings is not in my city. I am planning to visit her soon.

Taking the long way home is fun for me! And the days go so fast, even when we take the long way.

They do just keep getting faster. I like it when I can slow down.

The only thing better would be if someone else cooked it. It was actually a healthy meal for me.

Yes, it was nice just to visit for no reason, no errands for her and no appointments to take her to.

I like to meander when I have the chance. We used to always take the long way home but these days we just drive to exercise every day and then back home, so boring.

So you both exercise in a group together? Or do you do self guided workouts?

@GardenGerty No, we exercise in groups together. Three days in the pool and the other two at the senior center.

When I get away from the house there is no worry about meals or dishes, or computer. Very relaxing.

It was. Actually if I wanted to, I could go to her place and take a nap.
