Yes, I am still sorting, shifting, getting rid of, selling, keeping, and going through all kinds of things here. I never realized just how much junk someone could gather. I suppose it all must have meant something to my mother and her friend for them to have kept it all. The hardest part is going through and separating the good from the useless. Right now I am happy to say that I have moved to the craft items. I am finding at this point things that are going to be useful for me or my girls. We all do crafts so I am like a kid is a candy store. I want everything I see. I am glad saved the crafts until close to the end of my cleaning journey. They make it all so worthwhile. Now all I need to do is to hope I don't keep everything in sight. Please, I don't want to be a hoarder.

Or your mother and her friend were pack rats and could not part with things so they grew and grew and grew.

I think you are right. They couldn't seem to throw away anything.

@Hannihar There should be a group like hoarders anonymous.

@HazySue It is very very hard for hoarders to do that. I know from having accumulated so many things that I finally had to do it. There should be a group for that.

I need to start sorting through my stuff and figuring out what to toss and what to keep.

We all seem to gather stuff without realizing it.. For me the pile seems to keep growing.

@dramagirl26 it seems to multiply all on it's own.

@HazySue So true! I can't believe the amount of stuff I've accumulated over the years.

I respond to craft items that way as well. On the other hand, when the church group wants some yarn for kid projects, I can joyfully supply them without putting a dent in my pocket.

I find that I donate to organizations from time to time. When you keep so much it seems you can give freely to a good cause.

NOt easy to sort craft things out if you love to do this stuffl. As long as you keep the stuff organized, there is nothing wrong with this. Just enjoy it!

I think I need a room just for craft items and patterns. A wall of little open bins might help with organization.

Being able to use the craft stuff is good and I'm a firm believer that you can't have too many craft supplies

So am I. I find if I get rid of a crafting item I end up finding a craft I want to do that needs that item. I have to then run out and buy it.

Some crafts require you to hoard all sorts of bits and bobs I think. It will be exciting to start using some of the items later.

@HazySue Sometimes just riffling through craft supplies can trigger your creativity.

@JudyEv I find that it is true. You can sometimes get an idea from a hank of yarn and a bead.

I do end up with bins of this and that when it comes to craft items. I like to sift through them at times unless I am in a hurry to find a certain item and can't remember which bin it is in.
