To counter balance my electronic music series, I am going with loud guitars. Hence, my Favorite 80's Metal Songs countdown. We are at #7: "Blackout" by the Scorpions. "Blackout," the opening track from their 1982 album of the same name, is an 80's rocker that is as heavy as you would expect from the Scorpions. About a man in the middle of a blackout, the high energy song rocks. Hard. It was not released as a single, but remains a fan favorite. If you remember the 1983 US Festival, the Scorpions played 2nd to last on heavy metal day. Only Van Halen could keep the Scorp's from headlining the day. Anyway, the band, along with Quiet Riot, stopped in Pueblo, Colorado for a warm up show. Price? Ten bucks. They opened with a scorching version of Blackout, after which I knew it was going to be a great show. It was. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

That has a pretty upbeat feel for the subject matter.

You would think they would, but I bet they don't.
