Car Accident

I decided to drive down to the church to see if they needed help and as I was pulling in I got rear ended. It felt like a tank hit me. A young girl driving a Dodge Sprinter loaded with full bottles of wine hit me. They figured she was going about 45-50 miles an hour. Me zero. My car was shoved into the entrance of the parking lot and did a 360. When it stopped my head slammed into the steering wheel. I tried to move it back a bit but the motor had died. The girl that hit me came running over and opened the door to see if I was ok. Then another lady showed up who was a nurse. I got her to call my youngest son to tell him what happened. Then came the paramedics, police and all of those that goes to the scene of an accident. I was transferred to the hospital and they did a cat scan. They said I have a severe whiplash. My family did show up which was good for me. I am now home with my pain meds, muscle relaxers and the gel packs for pain. It has been about 5 1/2 hours or so since the accident and I am started to feel other sore spots and my car is totaled. Unfortunately the young girl got sited for careless driving with bodily injury. What a great day it has been! Sorry about the picture.

I am so very sorry to hear this Velvet. Oh my she could have killed you. I hope now that these pain meds will help. Poor Velvet. Will pray for your swift healing.

@celticeagle She got a super bad ticket. I had to fill out papers today to send to the DA's office. I won't go to the hearing but they will keep me updated on everything.

Thanks. I don't know what hurts the worse, my car being totaled or the bodily injuries. She got a bad ticket from it.

Sorry to hear this news. That had to be scary for you. I can only imagine having a car spin out on me like that after getting hit. Glad you are not horribly hurt. I hope your injuries get better fast.

Thank you so much. It happened so fast but I do remember a lot of details, like seeing white behind me which was the van she was driving. I will get through all of this and ready soon for some fun.

Yes she does. She is actually 28 but to me she seemed like a young girl. She was very worried when she came to my car.

The company that she works for has insurance. I haven't talked to them yet. My insurance company is taking care of everything right now.

I am so sorry to hear you were in an accident like this. I got whiplash from an accident when someone rear ended me and it does take a lot to recover. This is the only time in my life I ever sued anyone and of course, it goes on their insurance. Make sure you document it all well and I guess that other girl is in shock too. Nobody means to cause an accident. I do hope you recover fast and can get a new car quickly.

No we don't Pat and that is scary. There was times when something would happen and I figured that I would be in an accident but it never happened. I wish I knew why it had to happen now.

So sorry to hear that. That is so unfortunate. Sad thing about this is, no matter how careful you want to be on the road. Following all traffic rules, there will still be someone who don't care. Worst, they hit you istead of hitting people like them.

I can look at it now and see where if she had her eyes on the road the accident wouldn't of happened. She got a pretty serious ticket, careless driving with bodily injury. I don't know if she lost her job or not.

She was doing a delivery for the company she works for. She isn't as young as I thought she was. I only got to talk to her for a few seconds and then they wouldn't let her come around. She is actually 28. Wow. I guess the hit to my head made her look young to me. I can remember the look on her face when she got to my car. It was sad.

Thanks Marie. I am starting to feel more aches and pains now and things are blurry in my left eye. I will see the doctor Tuesday to see what she thinks.

bless yer heart, hon. i'm glad yer injuries weren't more severe 'n that nobody else 'twas injured. that young lady needed to be cited. no doubt not payin' mind whilst drivin'. hopefully she's got insurance to pay fer yer auto 'n yer medical bills. i'd highly recommend a good chiropractor. i know most folks're 'gainst 'em, but when i'd my wreck years back, mine 'twas a blessin'. sendin' healin' hugs!!

Hi Stranger! She was driving a company vehicle and got sited for careless driving with bodily injuries. i am just happy that it wasn't worse than it was. I feel so sorry for her.

Unfortunately? I would think it was fortunate the girl got sited for careless driving and bodily injury. I'm glad you're okay, other than your injuries. The car can be replaced, but lives can't.

I am doing better this morning except for a little pain and one heck of a black eye. It wasn't any joy ride, that is for sure. It felt like a tank hit me.
