I started working in the academe on 2004. From that year until now, I was always given a work load. I never had any semester staying at home because practically, my name is always in the priority list of clinical instructors given loads. And this is my 14th year, but I still feel anxious. Although I should be secure already, because I am tenured, I feel apprehensive if the students I will handle can accept me as their CI, or should I adjust also to their attitude as well. It is a two-way street anyhow. We should be adjustable with each other. Do you feel anxious when you are in a work experience in the same environment but with different personalities as well?

When I had been exposed to different sets of people, I built my self-confidence in dealing with them.

@Shavkat yes, we have to be flexible. i am flexible and i can manage handling third and fourth year students with their difference in their learning abilities.

yes, it is difficult to speak over the radio and talking live in front of the public. it is but natural to be anxious.

I always look forward to something new so I would be anxious but not in a negative way. I get excited. In my line of work, I always have to present to different kinds of people and I have met different kinds of personalities. I have to adjust all the time.

They would probably feel scared and intimidated because you have the experience of more than a decade being there. Your good at what you do. Sometimes I wished i had a work that lasted that long. But if that were to happen, I never would have met mylot and got to know a few people.

It can't be easy to always take on new students, I would also feel anxious. Just know that you have successfully helped train many personalities in all this time and I am certain all is going to go well for you my friend. All the best on Monday.

@ridingbet , oh goodness, I see there are some issues with students being tardy, I hope they will soon learn to make an effort to be on time! ;)

@bluesa these students don't yet know the value of punctuality when they are professionals. we cannot just let the other party wait for us because we are late.

yes, it is just a normal thing for us especially if we are on standby mode for more than a couple of months, and then, change of environment, that is why we feel anxious. anxiety is fear of the unknown and i do not know if my students will be receptive or not.

Yes, I feel this too. I mentored different personalities at work. I got involved in understanding their personalities but still nervous whenever I meet new faces to coach. I think I feel anxious because I don't want to commit mistakes.

my friend, mistakes are common to all, and committing mistakes should be a sign of humility for further improvement.

yes, we get anxious, because we don't know if our students will accept us and the method of teaching we will do.
