The echo that wasn't

So I showed up at my cardiologist's office today at 12:20 for my echocardiogram. . . and the place was empty. Dead. No one there at all and everything was locked up tight. I thought it was strange that they scheduled me for a Saturday appointment but then they even called to confirm it for Saturday at 12:30pm. I will have to call them on Monday to find out what the heck happened. They'd better not dare try to charge me for a missed appointment, especially for that procedure because it is pricey as hell and it had to be pre-approved by my insurance. I guess it will remain a mystery if the chambers and valves of my heart are working okay!

@NJChicaa It really is quite unprofessional for them to not call you at least.

Me too. I just wanted to get it over with. I finally did my bloodwork on Wednesday after like 4 years of putting it off. I wanted to be a big girl and get this done too.

It wasn't far from my house so I wasn't really mad. It was a nice day and my husband drove me in my cute little convertible. If it was a long drive, I would really be raging at them on Monday.

I don't blame you. I had to pay for an Echo a few years ago as well. Must be a typo from the receptionist.

I don't much care as I didn't have to miss work to go there but I will be pissed if somehow I was supposed to be there yesterday and they try to charge me for a missed appointment. I have a voicemail saying SATURDAY at 12:30

Very. I don't understand it at all. We very clearly have a voicemail message confirming an appointment on Saturday at 12:30. In the grand scheme of things, I don't care much because it wasn't really out of my way and didn't take a lot of my time. They'd just better not dare try to bill me for a missed appointment.

Bummer you had to drive there and find out nobody was there. I hope they do not charge you and can reschedule you for the appointment.

I hope they didn't miss this appointment. I think your four chambers are doing great.

sounds like a lack of coordination on their end, but at least, as you said, it's nearby and the drive and weather was enjoyable. hopefully, they don't charge you. heart tests are also expensive here.
