Short break from bedroom fun!

Today, I brought home the happiest kitten in the world! OMG! Prior to today, I never heard this kitten meow or purr. When we walked out of the shelter, he gave out a very large meow, as if to say goodbye to all his buddies (even though while inside, he did walk around to all the cages like a good little boy). Once in the van to come home, he meowed a couple of times. He didn't like the van, but who can blame him. It's not the best ride in the world. And then he was silent as we came into the building and up to our apartment. Once in the bedroom, I put the carrier on the bed and let him out. He began smelling everything, checked out my other cat's bed that I brought in there for him, and then he began charging at me, rolling over and purring like nothing I've ever heard before. He head butted me several times, licking my face and nose, kissed me on the mouth, climbed all over me, rubbed up against my bare feet on the bed and completely let me know he loves his new home....and me! I could not believe his reaction so quickly! I guess going to the shelter to visit and play with him really got him to know me. I'm thrilled that he's so happy here. I brought him in the window and he loves watching the cars go by. Being so high up doesn't seem to phase him. He already climbed up on the bed, jumped off, jumped up on to my rocking chair, found a way to climb onto the window sills, inspected his water, tasted his food, sniffed at his litter box and then came back to play some more! He's wearing me out! lol It's a good day. I am so glad that I took this step and after a week or so home with him, I'll be headed back to the shelter to snuggle some of the other cats and kittens there and see if I can help get them to their forever homes, too!
