Tragic way to die

Did you hear about the teenager who died at the Ohio State Fair when a ride he was riding in had some kind of mechanical problem and crashed? Some other people riding the ride with him were seriously injured.
I have been hearing too many of these types of stories and it distresses me. There was the young 10 year old boy who was killed last year when he was decapitated going down a water slide. Then years ago, I read about a Mom who fell off a ferris wheel at a park out West and died. Also, years ago, I read about a young man who was thrown from a ride like a roller coaster and died.
It is just very sad that people who are out having fun at an amusement park can lose their lives due to mistakes. It is scary.

Yes I hear of this all the time and that is why I do not go to those places anymore, they are carelessly put together and the safety straps are not inspected enough for dry rot, and the weight limit needs to be enforced.

I agree, when I was a kid, I loved those parks and rides, but not anymore.

Yes, I saw it on the news. They wouldn't show the video of it. I saw the video on Facebook and it was scary the way the machine started falling apart and it flung the people from it. They are going to have to start taking more precautions when it comes to these rides. They can't be checking them thoroughly because it is happening way too often. I think since these rides are mobile and they have to be setup it is even more important for them to be checked because they are not stationary.

An article I just read said that particular ride had been inspected many times and passed. That makes it even more scary that it fell apart.

As a child, I loved going to amusement parks and then as an adult , we took our boys. We have ridden the roller coasters , but I don't think I can do it anymore. It is just too risky. The one ride I would still ride is the Merry Go Round.

I am not fond of dangerous rides and will not go on them..I have never been on a water slide either.
I guess I am safe then.
It is a pity these rides are not always safe.

I read the title of it on i think facebook or twitter last night but didn't go into the story. Very sad news. And this is why I stick to the ground as much as possible!

@Marty1 its more common at carnivals and fairs, as alot of them have teens working them. Real big places like theme parks are safer. Though accidents still happen.

@Marty1 they arent bad like fairs and carnivals. They are safer. As they arent full of teens running ir and being so big they HAVE to be checked before running rides. Cant skip them.
