I am a night owl, so I figured why not celebrate the night with my Favorite "Night" Songs series, which is songs with "night" in the title. We are at #9: "All Day and All of the Night" by The Kinks.
From their 1964 album, Kinks-Size, "All Day and All of the Night" was a Top 10 single, following in the footsteps of the classic Top 10 single, "You Really Got Me."
Four years later, The Doors released their hit, "Hello, I Love You," which sounded very much like "All Day and All of the Night." Kinks vocalist Ray Davies' publisher wanted to sue, but Davies did not want to. Nevertheless, a British court decreed that all royalties from "Hello, I Love You" go to Davies.
Featuring one of guitarist Dave Davies' signature, instantly recognizable riffs, "All Day and All of the Night" is a bona fide classic.
Enjoy!

I didn't know about the Hello I Love You situation. Davies is probably still cashing checks.

Love the Kinks. Glad I got to see them on a good night (when Ray and Dave weren't fighting).

I saw Ray do the encores with the Pretenders. That's as close I came to seeing The Kinks.

@FourWalls - I wouldn't have gone the second time, but Garbage was on the bill.

Super pick! Their early stuff ruled These guys were an asset to the British Invasion. Who can forget "You Really Got Me" and "Lola," among others.
