Hot Action Cop!

We saw some hot cop action this morning. We happened to be walking by a church when this HUGE police officer went into the yard and made a direct bee line to an individual sitting in the churchyard.
The guy was already cursing at the cop and calling him names when the cop asked if he could search the guy's backpack. Of course, the guy said no. The officer must have had probable cause, because he picked up the backpack. It was at this moment that the guy tried to get it back by slapping the cop on the arm.
Everybody should already know that once you put your hands on a cop, you are going down. The officer tackled the guy, got up, and pulled his taser (he didn't use it.)
Two other cops showed up and arrested the guy.
Unfortunately, I have no photos, and even if someone had put a video on You Tube (as of now, they haven't,) I couldn't link to it because of all of the profanity.
And that was our exciting morning.

Wow! That would have been exciting. Twice now, we've come across about 5 or 6 cops standing near a junction and seemingly waiting for maybe a particular vehicle to come along. Both times we were pleased to be travelling in the opposite direction.

@JudyEv - It was across the street. I've also watched them apprehend a guy that had been involved in a shootout with Colorado Springs Police. Dude had a knife on him, but he tossed it away from himself before he laid down as instructed.

I've watched Manitou cops bust a few people over the six years I've lived here. Saw one pull a guy out of a truck at gunpoint one day as I walked.

A few years ago I watched them capture and arrest a guy who the Colorado Springs PD were searching for. It was right across the street.

Yep that's clever. Be aggressive we the guy that's primarily trained to deal with aggression and practices frequently. Oh and Miles too - nice :)

Anytime I have to talk to a cop, I always ask for permission before making any moves just so they don't think I'm going for them or something. Even if I am just a witness or talking to them as a first responder, such as when my girlfriend dislocated her shoulder.
