Indian High Court denied the permission of aborting the pregnancy of a 10 years old girl due the ‘term’ gone beyond the age of abortion. If the pregnancy completed 20 weeks then it is risk to abort the same. This news in the newspaper and in tv these days and shocked all of us.
My concern is not on ‘law’ or any other things but what the 10 years old knows about pregnancy and how her body can accept as she is too small with her physical structure. I felt so pain inside my heart as a mother.
The girl is raped by her maternal uncle. What a shame indeed.
Her mother, who is working as a maid, not aware about it and her neighbour told her to get checked on seeing the girl’s swollen belly.
How to save the small children from such ugly situations?

Such a traumatic experience for the child. I cannot imagine how such monster exists in this world.

@toniganzon Definitely she will suffer in her whole life. Delivery will be dangerous for her, abortion too will be dangerous as she is yet to develop her body for either of the two.

@Sreekala And she is going to go through that trauma all her life. She is still very young. I pray that she'll grow into a normal person with a pure heart.

I agree with you, we are losing our morals. You can not trust even the blood relatives with your kids anymore. As a parent, we must always be cautious and just not leave kids alone with anyone.
Though i agree on this non abortion decision provided government must provide all the best health facilities for her. Nothing is worth endangering her life.

@shaynas I do hope the government or any organization or hospital take care of her health.
On the other hand, we can't blame the parents, how she can think her little child will be treated by this way by her uncle. However, I agree, this is a lesson for all of us. Don't trust anyone in case of the protection of children.

OMG i am feeling so sorry for this girl. She is so young and yet such bad things has happened to her. How will she look after that child? Moreover will she ever be able to accept that child? Poor girl maybe she can't even understand what's happening to her right now. This evil uncle must be severely punished and the girl must be given the right to abort the child.

The term is 28 weeks and medical report is against abortion. If anything happened to child while aborting who will take responsibility. That may be the reason hospital authorities denied abortion. Then case gone to the Court and Court also rejected it. Same time, delivery will be risky for her.

There is no mention about the culprit in the news so far. I think either Human Rights Commission or Women's commission can take initiative to take cases against the culprit. I feel the family may not take any steps for getting punishment for the culprit as he is an inmate. I have no updates still.

Oh my.. what is happening here. If they denied abortion then how would they think such small child can give birth to a baby.. anyways she is suffering..

She gets to become mother early, and that's sad...I hope the child doesn't become a dictator like hitler did, he was a product of that kind of union...but this one, was rape..I hope the girl gets all the help she needs.

i dislike abortion,even if the pregnant female is a young girl. there is life growing inside of her.
unless a pregnant woman has health problems, she should continue with the pregnancy.

I too even have an opinion against abortion. It is a life I agree.
This is not the case of like or dislike. The girl is only 10 years old and her mother came to know about the pregnancy on foetus completed 28 weeks. That means the girl really does not know any thing about her body. Naturally 10 years old does not aware about these. Now the problem is, abortion may be dangerous for the girl's health, and foetus is also grown enough and has a life now. So killing the baby is also cruel. Now about delivery, which also will be unhealthy for the girl as her body is not developed enough for a delivery.
I can only say, very bad thing happened for the child.

@Sreekala if the pregnant girl has a health problem, or cannot deliver her baby in natural method, then, i think a Cesarean section can be done, but i still am not for terminating her pregnancy.

This is terrible. I hope this decision is based on health reasons. They need to take care of her well. I hope she will recover from the negative physical and emotional effects. It drives me nuts to know that the perpetrator is her uncle. The uncle needs to be punished appropriately.
