I thought I was going to be around more, but it's been quite the opposite because of the drama in my life. The hubby and I and his mom have been living on 4 lots together. We never divided the property because the hubby and I do ALL of the outside work. My hubby put in all the electric, as the place was condemned. My hubby even put a wall up in his mom's house, as there was none!! Anyway, the first year we were here, she got about 10 hens and a rooster. The first two years she was feeding and watering them and keeping the eggs. After 2 years, one day in the middle of summer, the mother-in-law just quit feeding them and watering them. Knowing it wasn't my responsibility or my chickens, I decided to water and feed the chickens anyway and have been doing so for 2 years. I didn't want to see the chickens die because they weren't getting fed or watered. So, the drama has been building and building and the first of this month we went into the courthouse and made "quick claim deeds" and divided the land. The 2 lots she has on are where the house she lives in and the trailer house we live in. Our 2 lots are NOT developed, so when we move our trailer house we'll have to put in our own lights, water and sewer. She decided that she wanted the chicken coup, but not the chickens because she says they're old and they're not producing enough eggs to justify the feed she would have to pay. Since I've been fermenting their chicken feed, we only use 1 50# bags each of laying mesh and chicken feed that's only $20 a month. Now when she "was" feeding them, she was buying 2 50# bags of each and sometimes would be running out. Granted now, there are only 6 hens and rooster now, I've been getting on average 3-4 eggs per day. She stated that she has some place that she can get farm fresh eggs for 29 cents a dozen, so she didn't want them!! We left for a while and came back to this on her FaceBook page! Of course when I showed him this screenshot from my son, he made a remark on he post and then went down and clarified that she could keep her chickens, but don't be involving me (his wife) in NO more FaceBook rants!!! At first I was upset, but then I realized that God knows the truth and anyways, maybe I can make some money on this post!! Sorry, this is so long and I can't figure out how to edit "her" name off the FaceBook picture. But hopefully you'll understand the drama I have been going through!!
