Dogs And Cats Anyone?

Never in my life have I ever been an animal person. It's not that I hated them, it's just that I never really cared. Everything changed though when I decided to buy my sister this cute little terrier pup. He was able get through my wall of my heart and decided to stay there permanently and I have learned so much from him. What amazed me more was the absolute love and affection that he has given to us. He is as loving and affectionate to us, as he is suspicious and hateful of other people. Now, my sister wants to buy a cat. Im not very sure if I would like that. Anyone here a cat lover? How about sharing to me the perks of having one.

They call dogs man's best friend. They are loyal to a fault and will protect you and your home, and steal your heart in the process, which is great. From what I know about cats, and I've had a couple - they are their own master. They don't need you, but they like having you around when they want some human attention.

What about rescuing one instead of buying it? That means saving a life and also changing the fate of a little creature. Animals change you forever.

Well usually, if not given, we buy pets in my country. We don't have animal shelters here.

@JeeyanDee Then directly from the streets? Though I guess that having no shelters means no dogs on the streets. Am I right?

@Gloriange Well, not necessarily. There are quite a lot of stray dogs here but haven't seen a pup yet. Most of them become roadkills sadly. Not many here give much attention to dogs nor cats. Majority got dogs on their houses not as pets but as guards of their houses. That may sound awful, but that is just the norm here. I also used to think that way before my little Zarek came into my life. Now I feel for every animal I see on the streets.

I am totally a cat person.They are undoubtly adorable and cute.I love hearing them purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and I just love to pat them.They are little precious from heaven.

Animals can do that to you. My daughter always wanted a pet. But I had to travel for work and this was very hard. Then one of my co-workers bought me a Pekinese for my birthday one year. I fell in love with this dog. now I have 6 dogs and 1 cat. I no longer travel and have a nice home and yard for them to live in. They are your best friend. Just give them a lot of love. They need it.

They steal food? Hmmm. Maybe if the cat has been disciplined well and fed enough then it won't feel the need to.

I had a dog and cat together. My dog came first and I loved her with all my heart. Animals are very special that there are people out there do not know that. All one has to do is spend some time with them and then you can get hooked. My dog loved the cat when she came along. She was so little and so curious. The dog was very sweet and loved everyone. I love both, but, cats I feel are easier to take care of. You do not have walk them. My cat I have now gets all her shots, but, she just goes out in the hallway of our apartment and out on our porch. Cats are also very special. My cat I had with my dog hated being left out of anything She made sure she won my heart and I fell in love with her too. She was very sweet. She would climb on my lap and fall asleep there.
