Church This Morning

I don't often tell you what the service was about, but this morning was powerful. My pastor concluded an eight week series on Revival this morning. He has talked on every area of a person's life, including our failures and how we can see revival through failure - last week's message. However, this week, this morning, the message was on Revival of the Gifts. I don't know if you are a Christian, and if you are, I don't know where you are in your walk with Jesus Christ. This morning his message was from 1 Corinthians 12:1,4-11. Also Mark 16. If you know anything about the Bible, it's relevant for today, as I'm trying to show with my Daily Bible Study's. The Bible wasn't just written between 6000 and 2000 years ago and then left to molder away in dust on our shelves. It was meant to read today and every day. The Word of God is powerful, like a two-edged sword, cutting joint and marrow - going deep into our soul. It is also without apology, and where today's sermon is concerned - the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. Pastor Jimmy went into each of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit - The Revelation Gifts - Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Discernment. Power Gifts - Faith, Miracles, Healing. Inspirational Gifts - Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, Prophecy. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit is motivated by love - 1 Corinthians 13. We need to be motivated by love. When used by the church, to speak directly into a person's life, you can be a powerful witness of Jesus Christ. The gifts were meant to be used every day, not just once in a while. They are to build up the Body of Christ, to edify, strengthen, and encourage. God is a forever God with a forever message to his church. He wants you to go out and use the gifts God has given you. I'm doing what I can by bringing a study of God's Word, showing how relevant it is today, and hoping that you will see your need for Jesus Christ in your life. I will never apologize for sharing the gospel of my Lord Jesus Christ with you. If you are interested in hearing Pastor Jimmy preach on Revival, I will be very happy to give you my church's web address so you can hear these relevant messages for the church today. Today's message will be posted tomorrow or Tuesday. If you are a Christian, and you haven't opened your Bible in a while, I encourage you to get it off your shelf and open it up. Read how much God loves you, and start being the witness God called you to be in Matthew 28:19-20. Did you go to church this morning or last night? What was your message? Thanks for reading. Thanks for sharing. I agree - the Bible holds many valuable lessons for today and always... I know I daily read some "Bible Verses of the Day" , used to do a devotional reading as well.

I have not been able to find my bible since we moved. So I got a hold of the Gideons and got one new testament and a different company for the old testament.

I love going to church, but I work on Sunday. It's not what I want, but I take jobs that I can walk to because I don't drive. To me...working on a Sunday is not forever...it is for a season. I would like the link.
