VERY SCARY THUNDER AND LIGHTNING LAST NIGHT!

In my whole life, last night was the first time that I experienced a very "powerful or angry " thunder and lightning like that. My Mom and my aunts also said that it was also their first. That happened whilst we were sleeping. We were all awaken by its noise/loudness. We were all so scared. That was very unusual. It sounded like bombs were thrown to us. That was so unforgettable and really very scary! Has anyone else here also experience a lightning and thunder like I experienced last night? What do u think could it mean? Or why was it like that?

Yesterday we got a bad storm too. The thunder sounded like a tornado was headed our way, which is the only part that scared me.

Even I am very scared of thunder and lightning especially if it is at night. I panic when I hear the sound. I don't sleep alone on those days.
