What do you do with your leftovers?

August 10, 2017 3:06pm CST
It's common that there are leftovers of food every day, but what do you usually do with them? Here at home, we always reuse everything in some way (especially trying to create new recipes). What can never happen it's waste... This is non-negotiable.

Well usually with leftovers I either reheat adding more sauce or whatever or I make up a completely different recipe using the leftovers. I sometimes there really is a bit too much then there are the garden birdies who love having a taste and bones and such to to our neighbor's dog Toro so we really use everything up.

I do my best not to waste food but a TV cooking chef once said to always have chicken broth in your cabinet because all leftovers can be turned into soup the next day. That does work!

I don't like wasting the food. So if I cook, most of the time I will make sure I will finish the food. If there are leftovers, I will keep them and cook them with new ingredients next day.

I either freeze them depending on what it is or make new recipes. Sometimes we let certain left overs sit there as we forget about them or don't want it and then have to toss them, it doesn't happen often though.

I do my best to eat or re-purpose and then eat them. The remains of the second tuna steak I grilled the other night will be turned into tuna salad tomorrow for my lunch.

Maybe once a week, I have a clean out the fridge night of leftover odds and ends for dinner.

Sometimes I'll just make a second meal the next day using some of it or my boyfriend or mom will take it for lunch at work the next day

I also try to reuse most of the leftovers. Though when it's too much for some reason, i give it to my help rather than stacking in the freeze.
